Courses

Karoro Learning provide a range of NZQA accredited qualifications.

Courses are generally free to students who meet the appropriate eligibility criteria.  Please contact our office or your Work and Income case manager for more information about eligibility.

Our Courses

Nationwide

  • Learn@Home Computer & Office Skills Training *”Free” to DPB (Carers), Widows & Invalids Beneficiaries who qualify for the Training Incentive Allowance. Applications can be taken throughout the year. Training is self-paced and can start any time.

Greymouth

  • Commercial Driving (January and July 2012) Free for those who meet the Employment Related Training Criteria
  • Customer Service & Retail (April & October 2012) Free for those who meet the Employment Related Training Criteria
  • Youth Guarantee: Employment Skills & NCEA (January – December 2012)  Free for 16 and 17 year olds who have left school. (and 15 year olds with exemption from school)
  • Youth Guarantee: Mawhera Services Academy (January – December 2012) Free for 16 and 17 year olds who have left school. (and 15 year olds with exemption from school)
  • Skills for Work course (Intakes throughout the year) Learn Customer Service, Driving, and Office Skills together with generic skills for employment.  Free for those who meet the Foundation Focussed Training criteria
  • Key Skills – Literacy & Numeracy for the Workplace (Intakes throughout the year) Free for NZ Citizens or Permanent Residents who need a significant literacy or numeracy boost
  • ACE – Short Courses: Discounted for unwaged people. Fees are kept low for all!
